Feast-Day Cakes From Many Lands

Feast-Day Cakes From Many Lands is a gem from 1960 that I found in my school’s library. This cookbook features recipes for various holidays and celebrations from all over the world- mainly Europe. When I think of a vintage cookbook, Feast-Day Cakes From Many Lands fits perfectly into that mold. Its adorable pink cover and subtle illustrations give it an aesthetic that reminds me of a book that a 1950’s housewife would gift her teenage daughter.

This cookbook is both cute and informative, as it gives readers a small blip about the treat and its origins before the recipe and method. I highly recommend Feast-Day Cakes From Many Lands for anyone interested in learning more about different cultural desserts or anyone who wants to pretend that they’re from the 1950s for a day.
